John W. Lhota concentrates his practice in the areas of general litigation, bankruptcy and debtors’ rights, criminal law, and municipal law.  A native of Clearfield, Pennsylvania, he is committed and passionate about representing the people of the Centre Region.

John graduated cum laude from Washington and Jefferson College where he majored in History and minored in Business.  He then attended the Duquesne University School of Law, graduating cum laude.  While in law school, John served as a judicial extern with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, from which he developed a comprehensive knowledge of the Federal Bankruptcy Code.  He received the Outstanding Oral Argument award in Duquesne’s nationally ranked Legal Research and Writing Program and also wrote for the Energy & Environmental Law Journal.

Prior to joining Miller, Kistler & Campbell, John worked for a large energy law firm in South Western Pennsylvania, where he reviewed and analyzed oil and gas titles.  From there, he gained experience in several areas of the law at a full service law firm in downtown Pittsburgh.
