Adam J. Witmer focuses his practice on litigation matters, primarily personal injury and criminal defense. He also has extensive experience in the areas of estate planning, disability issues, and municipal law.
A native of Centre County, Adam attended the University of Notre Dame, where he served as head drum major of the Notre Dame Marching Band from 1999 to 2000. He graduated from Notre Dame Law School in 2003.
Adam started his legal career at a large law firm in Philadelphia. There, Adam concentrated on complex racketeering litigation, often focused on recovering insurance monies paid to individuals and businesses involved in fraudulent insurance claims. Adam also participated in mass tort litigation, defending pharmaceutical companies against products liability lawsuits.
Adam returned to Centre County in 2008, and he has practiced at Miller, Kistler & Campbell since that time. In his years at Miller, Kistler & Campbell, Adam has continued to represent clients, both plaintiffs and defendants, in a variety of civil litigation matters, from defending construction companies and businesses in personal injury suits to representing individuals in breach of contract matters.
Adam also has thorough knowledge of the criminal defense process, and he routinely represents clients facing criminal charges. Adam has helped many clients navigate the ARD process, in addition to assisting clients defend against drug- and alcohol-related charges.
Among his other activities, Adam is an active member of the Bellefonte Kiwanis, and he serves as a cantor at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellefonte. Adam lives with his family in Bellefonte.
